This last week, I have gotten several calls from people saying that I called them. They wanted to know what and why I called. I havent made any such phone calls. Looking at the logs there is nothing showing I called.
Their calls show up as calling me however.
Very strange.

Did you port your number or get a new one from VOIPo?
I ported a number that I had from skype over a year ago.
Ive noticed that once the "subscription" on the number expired, I started having these type of problems. But they stopped. VoipO CS helped with the porting, of course. I did ask them about this and they assured me that only one person can "own" the number at a time.
Been wondering if skype somehow resold the number even tho it's been ported.
It certainly would explain things though.
It's pretty easy to spoof the outgoing caller ID to show anything you want if a provider allows it so someone could be doing that.
A number could definitely be setup somewhere else (and showing for outgoing Caller ID) but the incoming just not routing to it (and routing to you). That would be very hard to track down though especially if Skype.
Yea, in the end I figured it was caller ID spoofing. But why would they chose to spoof mine! LOL

Could it be someone with the same number in a different area code?
My cell phone has a common number as some office at UPS except theirs is 800 and mine is 908. I a person in 908 forgets to use the 800 when they dial I get them. You can't imagine how many calls I get. Sometimes I have GREAT fun with them sometimes I call them nasty names..
