HT502 issue

We have been trying to get our adapter set up to as a new installation but had problems because of our modem (long story). Set itup through the router which seemed to make a difference and power cycled the adapter and both lights started blinking (wan/lan) as it was supposed. Instructions of course say not to reboot/unplug while this is going on but it has never stopped blinking. Been close to an hour now.

Now what? Don't won't to damage the adapter but the update is 'stuck.'

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Are they blinking together (at same time in a pattern) or just blinking in general. If in pattern, it's updating. If just randomly and not together then it's just normal activity.
