Voicemail outgoing greeting not heard

I called my VOIPo number and let it ring until voicemail picked up. I never heard the outgoing greeting. Instead I heard some garbled crackling and then the beep to start leaving a message.

I tried this multiple times. Every once in a while things worked fine, i.e. I do hear the outgoing greeting. But it seems that most of the time it does not work.

Are others seeing this issue?

I was not "hearing" the VM on occassion yesterdy also. I thought it was just my new 7960G and the softphone setup.

I had the same experience on Thursday, but tried again Friday and the greeting was fine. -- Basically, it sounded like the VM greeting "started early" prior to the phone line connecting.

It seems to be working now. But yesterday it was definitely intermittent. Maybe they fixed something.

We upgraded our VM systems this weekend to support additional load.

The greetings should be much clearer now and less choppy. We tripled the voicemail node.
