    Default Interesting about Virtual Numbers

I never knew it could take up to 24 hours to activate a
newly purchased Virtual Number. It confused me when
it shows in vPanel and even in the Devices section, but
can't dial out, and rings busy on dial-in.

Not complaining, just thought I would share.

It's usually faster. One of our primary CLECs Bandwidth.com is taking up to 48 hours to activate numbers right now due to a "backlog of orders queued up".

Yes, some are taking up to 48 hours.

We're pressing them to get them done quicker, but we're told they have a huge backlog and the system just processes one at a time to activate.

Google uses them exclusively for Google Voice so they prob ordered a ton of numbers.

Still we don't think it should back everyone else up like it is doing though. We're continuing to press them to speed things up.

They claim the backlog should be cleared up soon.

I find it odd that the voice mail dialing 123 fails. Being an internal function.
Dialing the VM from my main VOIPo number is routed to its VM and its shows the message on vPanel.
Even the VMWI lights up, but it can only be accessed/removed using vPanel right now.

Glad to hear. I think they are almost completely caught up.

Their system is so odd that is does one number at a time.

As an example if I order 100 numbers, it'll do them one at a time and if I keep refreshing the status page on their portal I can literally watch it go down the list from pending to active.

So when someone does a huge order, it can take forever to finish it and all other orders get queued up behind it.

Seems like they could do them in bulk, but....

Ha! Just the wrong timing for me I guess

It was a 734-335-xxxx Plymouth Michigan number that I needed short term.
Handy to filter some Craigslist.com stuff straight to VM. Never knew that it
would only take a couple days to sell what I needed to sell!

Now my daughter wants to sell a huge tube TV - 46" I think?
They have a flat screen they only use now.

The thing just makes my back hurt to look at it!
