I just gave up on AT&T and switched to Cox. The speed is double what the DSL was and they will not offer UVERSE to customers just for internet service. They also have no plans to ever increase DSL speeds.

My DSL was crap for the three years I have lived here. Was great at my previous home. Got really bad the last two weeks. DSL connection was dropping every hour or so. I had Cox before and switched to AT&T for faster speed. Now Cox is faster and it works so I guess I will stick with them until AT&T makes a new plan.

I had my DSL modem replaced 8 times. I have 3 of the 8. One of those 2-wire wireless units and the 2210's. Hello Ebay.

So anyway moral of the post if you want UVERSE you had better want their expensive tv service. Oh, and they caught on to the trick where you call and order UVERSE and cancel after a month and keep the UVERSE for internet. Now they will switch you right back to DSL. (Which really must cost them more). I would like to see them drop DSL in markets like mine where they have UVERSE cabinets every mile and use it instead even if its at the DSL speeds. At least then you will not be using PPPoE and get the speed they advertise.

Would be nice if Cox would now do what Comcast did.
