    Default Faxing from email

The beta screen lets users register an email address from which to send faxes, but there's no documentation on how exactly to send a fax from an email.

The support folks told me that after registering an email address, all I need to do is attach the desired document in the form of a PDF file to an email note, then send it to <faxnumber>@fax.voipwelcome.com from the registered email address.

I've tried this a few times, but no fax is ever received on the fax machine, and no error email (or confirmation email) gets returned to the sender.

How about some formal documentation on this new feature?

    And does it really work?

    Any suggestions?

    Hello,

It appears that you may have been given an incorrect email.

    Correct format would be

    phoneNumber@fax.voipo.com

phoneNumber = 10 digit destination phone number

Attach document(s) to the email will be faxed to the destinations.

Document types accepted are the same as online, i.e. TIFF, PDF, JPG, etc.

Also there is a known issue when sending from some MAC OSX clients.

Lastly - make sure you are sending from an authorized email address.

Please do let me know how this works out for you, thanks!

Thank you for providing the correct instructions. I was able to successfully send a PDF file as a fax using the instructions that you provided.
